Zürich, Höngg, 2026
Holdener Naturgartenbau designed the grounds around the 350-year-old building “Der Rothe Ackerstein” in Zurich-Höngg, incorporating a variety of natural stone features. An eco-friendly dry-stone wall made of sandstone and Verrucano reflects the history and appearance of the house, which was also built from reddish stone from the canton of Glarus. A fountain was returned to its original location, invasive non-native plants were controlled, and old granite platform stones were reused as steps. A modern planting plan fits harmoniously with the historic character of the grounds.
